Post wanting advice on new boat and mud motor
Alright guys. I've been searching all over this sight for advice and this site has been a great asset for information. I am wanting advice on a new rig. I hunt mainly in cypress covered lakes where you will tear up an outboard in minutes. I also hunt in flooded timber in AR where like Bayou Meto where they flood the timber in the fall so the depth of water is always changing. I am leaning towards getting a Go devil 16 or 18 foot x 44 or 48 inch bottom with 23hp long tail. I usually hunt with 2 other people, dog and 3 dozen dekes. I was looking into War Eagle boats, but not a lot of good reviews with a mud motor on it. I'm planning on investing no more than $10k on this package and any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Perfect, you can buy the exact rig you speak of from me.

Since you mentioned G0Devil I suggest looking at their website and customize a package. You can easily stay in the 10 grand range if you don't get all the whistles and bells for the boat.

I have had a Go-devil boat in the past now have a Gator-trax 17x54 with a 35mud buddy SLT have to say I prefer Gator trax boat. But in the end both good choices just like the fact I could get a more open floor plan with Gator-trax and it seems to handle better.

thanks for the advice. I think I'm gonna go with GD 16x44 with 23hp longtail. My drive to the hunting spot are usually less then 2 miles and the cypress stumps are a killer.

I have that rig for sale, plus it has a few upgrades on it. Send me a pm if you are interested in a used rig. I'm often in Kansas City, so I'd consider delivering half way.
