Just got my first Longtail mudmotor this past weekend and was looking to see where to get a swivel mount for the motor so I can swing the tail into the boat while towing. Also around how much they cost? Thanks

According to Go Devil's website, the swivel bracket for an existing motor is $165.

Any cheaper way to do it, it may be a while before I come up with that much. I am just worried about it putting stress on the transom during trips

Save yer time and money....

The swivel raises the LT up 2 inches, might cause you some
trouble with cavitation plate stayin' put under water too....

If you measure that long rascal from mount to tip of the handle
and mount to the tip of the tail - there is only about a foot difference - so
you don't gain much of anything by spinning it round.... It's also balanced
so that either way it faces is bout the same on the transom... You just
don't want it flailin around in transit...

Better to rig a short rope to a floor mount - then use a piece of rope looped
around the trailer - up over the gunnels, wrapped round the handle, then
down again to the trailer.... This keeps your prop up high - over car hoods
and stable so it does not act up while trailering.... The short rope to a floor
mount serves as "neutral" while in the water too...

Don't think it will help the transom any by turning it into the boat. The motor should be all but in the boat all ready. Only the shaft is hangin out correct?

What I did, and don't know if it was the right thing to do but it works great. I took a treated 2x6 about 2' long and a treated lanscape timber about 1' long cut a vee in the top of the landscape timber and screwed them together. I added an eye bolt to the floor of the boat and put the handle of the longtail in the vee and bunge straped it to the eye bolt over top of the handle. Holds good while runnin down the road. I've had it this way for over a year.

Go get you one of those reciever hitch tube and install it on your trailer then make the a transom saver that you can slide In and out that holds the tail in place

I got mine like Giga said, a rope loop on the floor (actually mine is to the side of the boat so the prop stays to the passenger side) and it holds it in neutral for when yer picking up, etc. Hook it over the handle when you go down the road and yer good to go. Weight of that motor is on the transom, no matter what you do. Nothing's gonna stop that, the bouncing is balanced at that point, so the weight shouldn't change much on the transom. If somebody hits your prop, they were too frikking close anyway.
