i gound a 16 hp go devil short shaft the guy wans 300 for it its needs carb work will it be worth buying it and it needs the right air box ?? just wanting to et some ideas

Yeah it's worth it. Where else can you get anything to push your boat for 300 bucks, can't even get a wore out 5 horse for that.

Congrats on your rig dude, we're kinda in the same boat now. I got a 24hp 2005 model honda Scavenger longtail for 200 bucks and a junk lawnmower. She's being sloooowly worked on right now too, better hurry his tail up though, it's time to get them blinds done.

ya i got it from john lol couldnt pass it up for the price and yes im trying to get it ready for the blind for this year the motor is in the shop as we speak drop it off today so next is a grab bar and a light bar theres more to come u wont reconize the boat when i get done with it

Dude yer painting your boat just like mine too, lmao! Don't give up on that style, the ol' Krylon X's, you just gotta work the colors man. Hit 'er with the olive drab first, paint it all solid. Then hit the light tan color, up and down, from floor to gunnel, in shallow, over-lapping X's, trying not to be too uniform with them. This will leave a lot of whitish overspray, so repeat the process over top with the dark brown, this will sharpen it up tremendously. Can't beat the 20 dolla sore-thumb special, here's mine...

hey kool man we think alike yea its the cheap way so is the olive drab a darker color ? if so i might just go solid drab and come back with some dead grass green cuz thats what i painted it first dead grass green but idk what im do imma head to the shop tom and play around with some colors the the ceap o depo sray paint is the easy way to go now all im waiting to hear the results on my motor to find ou whats wrong with it hopefully not to much

No prob. What exactly is wrong with the motor? I thought it was a carb. Shouldn't be 3 weeks for a carb. Unless the shop is just that busy.

well just got the word back from the shop ... dont sound to good but its gonna cost 800 to rebuild the whole thing uhhh.... but hopefully it will be brand new abd run like a champ when hes done with it

We are under proped right now, Motor on Governor with one person on 14'x48 jon. Hitting 4300rpm before govenor backs it down, with9x5 prop. With 2 people 550Lbs hitting 4150rpm at 23mph on gps. Had to fab up trim tabs to bolt on skeg to keep prop from climbing out of water. Planes out nice at 3000rpm with 2 people. Still going to order 9x7 prop.
