I can't believe how heavy that stuff is! I bought this boat in pretty rough shape so in doing the once over, found some ants living in certain parts of the boat and just decided to do every thing I could to clean it up. I drilled out all the rivets for the floor and pulled about 150 pounds of the stuff out! And there's still some left under the middle I have to power wash out! A little water is in the boat from a recent rain, but those things were legitimately water logged. Going to replace with the pink sheet home insulation later. |

Just leave it out. The boat performs better without it. |

Try around 17 years old! It's a 96'. Does anyone know if the other foam soaks up water like that? Been debating cutting out the foam under the front deck, but I don't want to make any holes if it's worth keeping the stuff. |

Don't use that pink home insulation. I had that in my boat and it melted. My guess is from gas from my tank up forward. No big leaks. Just a little splashed out a few times when I forgot to close it tight on the road. |

The pink insulation will definitely melt when gas hits it, good call. I'll probably just talk with GD about new strips. And for the record, ".125" is stamped on the back of my hull. I know it's old, but it's an 1856 so that's probably why the 1/8" hull |

What year did they come out with the new and improved foam that does not absorb water? I purchased a GD new in 2011 and my foam in the floor is water logged. Some of the strips were heavy and some were light. |

I'm in the process of pulling the foam out of my 18x44 go devil. Not sure if I'm gonna replace it with nee foam or not....more than likely I will order new foam from go devil. My question is, I'm pulljng the rivets out if the front and back floor and removing the foam, but you guys think I should remove the front foam, middle foam, and the side box foam in the back? How would I get that out? Cut holes and pull it out? How much water do y'all think will be in those? Aren't they sealed??? Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2 |
