Post subject:  23 swomp and backh20 pods

Been a long time since I posted. I was the guy running the Thai kit with a 13 hp Honda. Last year everything with it went ok. I am picking up a 23 swomp ss in a week for my 1542 riveted and dumping the Honda. Anybody else running this set up that can give ant tips? Also I returned the beavertail pods I just bought cause Arian said they started making them and they are a lot better quality. Also he said vanguard started giving him ss exhaust with motors. Anybody get any pods from him yet? Thanks for any input and any estimates on performance.

I have the same motor. Very nice! Back Water is paying a little extra for the new stainless mufflers but they're a nice addition for sure. I tried the motor on a riveted 1440 and that wasn't a very good setup. I went with a more stable 1648 War Eagle and I love it!

The stainless exhaust comes with the marine motor. The marine motor will also turn more rpm. Love my back h20 35ss great product and company no matter the hp.

Picking up my 23 swomp tomorrow. Talked to Jake about possibly doing pods after we see how my set up runs. Can't wait to get up to the shop and put it on my boat!

I have a 1542 with pods and a 35 SS. I run somewhere close to mid 20's by myself. I only had a GPS out with me once and can't remember exactly what it read.

Took a little fine tuning to get it just right but it is great now. Wish I had a larger hull for the motor but I bought the pair used (mainly for the motor) and will be getting a bigger hull within the next couple of seasons. A 23 is what I should have but I haven't had any issues yet.

If they're making their own pods does anyone know if they plan on making their own hulls sometime in the future?

They have made pods for a long time and they do build boats already.

I have it on a Lowe 1448. I am doing some mods on the boat and after I get it finished I may be looking at adding pods. Jake and I took it for a cruise after he and Larry got it mounted on the boat. Ran about 21 mph. Did real good when we ran a path thru the cattails about half as wide as my boat. We only put 23 minutes on it so its not even close to broken in yet. Can't wait to get back out on the water.
