Look through the engine and mods section of the forum. ..

Its a 35 B&S - get a stage 1 done.

Same engine on all the surface drives on here....

Darryl4444, is the 35 an LT? The bump-ups on shorties seem worth it, though my quick math came up with almost 1K$ for each 1 mph of gain...trouble is on the LT, that without gear reduction, more rpms reach a level of no gain because you can't spin a larger prop. A couple of guys here did the head work on smaller blocks (23 and 225) but the gains were minimal. I figure the posted mods would be sort of equivalent to advancing the stock throttle setting. I got about 3 mph faster with that but that's it. That was no cost and took only a couple of minutes. I'd be glad to hear anybody here who owns an LT and did motor mods and state what specific gains they made.

I don't remember exactly who maybe b coonass did it but he had a gd lt that was torqued up. I don't know what prop he ran on it but it was much faster than a regular lt. If that's what you are looking for.

Didn't his lt run right around 30?

Dang! Running 30 on an LT! Heaven and hell in the same ride- meaning hold on for dear life! GD rates the 35 HP LT with a 10x6 prop...a 10x9 on a 9HP with clutch; 10x4 on a 31 HP. After I tweaked the throttle on my 27 HP Kohler MB LT, I had to switch from the 9x7 it is rated for and came with, to a 9x6 to realize the gain. The fastest speed (22 mph by myself) was obtained on the 9x7 but I had to run it half out of the water like a surface drive! Fun but not practical or doable to turn! Now, has anyone run a 10x6 on a 25/27 HP LT?? I bet GD and all the other LT mfg.'s have experimented with all the sizes, but I still think there is room for improvement. I am hoping b coonass can chime in. Wonder what hull that was on?

Yeah, it was Brennon (b coonass). He had a 31 that was modded.
