Check this out. 100 mph from a long tail. I think we need to sit down and do some serious thinking. Or copying. ![]() |

I would have to agree. I know our boats are heavier and have alot more drag, but our motors are also alot bigger as well, seems to me the power to weight ratio would be close, as least closer so our boats would go faster then 20mph. |

That's what I been thinking. Doesn't make much sense to me, anything with enough power to push a 1200 pound rig through almost dry mud, you would think could have enough power to haul major ass. Maybe something geared a little higher? But then, my hunk o junk bogs down as it is, if anything it could use a lower gear. |

I got my first mud motor about 2 months ago... I love it. But I think this has a little bit to do with that these are 2 stroke motors... I had a Yamaha Banshee 4 wheeler that would turn about 10-12 grand for runs down the drag strip now problem vs a 4 stroke that could only turn 4-5 grand. Has anyone tried a 2 stroke motor that can turn that? and what about a mud motor that would retain the transmission off something like a 4 wheeler or dirtbike motor. I mean just like a car... start in 1st and start shifting as you are accelerating? i dont know much about the prop part... would any of this theory work? mud motors are sick! |
