 New backwater 40 Well, the motor was delivered last Thursday. I couldnt put it on, due to waiting on Gator Base curing, and putting Gator glide on last Saturday, so I bank hunted and killed some teal on foot. Got the motor on Monday, and due to work/weather, finally got it out on the water last night.
Man, I am in love. I went into a local marsh, that is overgrown with grasses, cattails, and has a big section of lillypads. Shallow water basin, that is normally dry most of the year. The state isnt turning the pumps on this year, so its only accumulated rainwater in there. I called jake yesterday, because I didnt get the cavitation shims with the motor. They were in my mailbox when I got home today. Spent about 45 minutes in the marsh, and I can say, this is my best purchase, by far, for anything outdoors/hunting related. First time driving a MM, so it was a little intimidating, but after 10 minutes, I was driving it like I have been driving one for years. Super easy to drive, and a complete blast. I cant wait until the opener!

Re: New backwater 40 Stopped for a photo op. Don't mind the mirror on the front of the boat. New deck welded on, and need to paint this week.

Re: New backwater 40 Thanks! Dont leave the shore without the lanyard on! I put it on an 1852 all welded jon boat. 1970 lowe. Ive done a bunch of fabricating to customize it. Need to get my grab bar put in this weekend. Hoping to hit actual normal open water this weekend to check GPS speeds. Im not real concerned about speed, just curious more or less.
