Looks like the Robin just let the cat out of the bag.

I am. Its not a direct bolt up though. I've got it bolted to the base plate, but I'm having to fabricate some brackets to bolt up the tail.

Note - The Backwater guys have once again been extremely helpful.

Did you get the key switch situation sorted out?

I got the factory style ordered, but yes. I'm actually going to put a momentary switch in my console just because I can.

Great! Sticker on motor says 28 HP? Seems lightweight. Let us know how she performs!

Sticker says 28hp. The block is only stamped EH72 as the model, not the full EH72EFI. I wonder if that's how GTR and whoever else get around the 25hp issue. I figure lose the 28.0 sticker, or get a 25 sticker.

That is a 25 HP Subaru motor with a EFI instead of a carburetor. Actually the weight seems a little heavy to me.

Any updates? Subaru is the new kid on the block and we need some real field tests.

I'm looking for the OEM Subaru key switch assembly that bolts to the right side of the motor with the Subaru pigtail for direct plug in. Sounds like you had to track down the same thing. Do you have a part number off yours?

Cool! My ears perked up when copperhead made a handful of 28 Subaru surface drives...wonder if the 9x7 prop will work with that or maybe even spin a 9x8? Is that the 71" or 59" Backwater tail? I need a garage! Good luck, I will await the report!
