Stuck shaft
I was in the process of replacing my lower seals when I found that corrosion has gotten the best of my engine. I couldn't remove the prop without a lot of heat and then the seal was corroded to the bearing housing. We were finally able to get the seal free, and tried to disconnect the shaft from the U joint but weren't able to make that move. We ended up cutting the shaft below the U joint to try and at least get the shaft out. I removed the restraining clip and the shaft seems to move pretty easily but won't budge outward. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, do the bearing housings come off the shaft tube? And if so, do they screw on or press on?
