You'll have leaks in it in no time. It'll work but you'll be wantin a new boat soon. The hull on that boat is prolly pretty thin. Your gonna get it all beat up and start poppin those rivets. You ain't gonna want to roll across any stumps or drag the bottom in it either, but then there aint much point in gettin a mud motor. We used to have a 13hp lt on a 1436 riveted boat, opened up a new hole evertime we took it out. |

Silicone!! Repeen the rivets and silicone them until you can't stand it anymore. Then you will have a reason to upgrade. At least you will have the motor. Go with the biggest the boat can handle so you are ready when you upgrade the hull. |

I know that the boat ain't goona hold up real great but as long as i can get thru one seson with it i will buy a new allweld after that and i guess i should have been a lil more detail to why i was asking if it would work the reason i was ask was because the boat as a lip that come off the console and didn't know if the motor would have enough room to be used thanks a agian |

We have and still use a 1972 Lowe 1548 that has had every kind of motor, from 50hp merc outboard to a 29hp GD moded crawfish on it, and it still doesn't leak. It has had 3 LTS and 1 SD on it in the last 6 years. We hunt the Mississippi River and don't go out of our way to tear our equipment up. Use your head when operating it at high speed, and it should last you a long time. Rivited boats are easy to fix , not everybody has a aluminum welder on board. We have the tools needed to replace rivits and have used them to reconfigure boat interiors such as moving seats and adding bottom support ribbing. |

if it has the duckboat handle it will come out the water plenty enough even with a back seat. There should be no worries. |
