20hp Honda
My little brother and I are thinking about building a lt. We have been looking for engines to use. We have a 1648 jon boat. We live in Iowa so were not going to be in much mud, just low water levels. I have found an older 20hp Honda for sale. I know it's a gx620. Not sure on the year. Is this engine any good? We're on a tight budget so this is the only engine we have found that isn't too expensive. I dont know how to post a picture with an iPad or I would of it.

Re: 20hp Honda
I was told it came off a stump grinder. How long till they normally need rebuilt? Would 400 be a good price?

Re: 20hp Honda
We live in southeast Iowa. Hopefully we are going to get it this weekend. Yes Red isn't the best for a duck blind. Probably just going to paint it green and make a cover for it.

Re: 20hp Honda
So the guy sold the 20hp and cash flow is low right now. How fast would a 13hp push a 1648? There's one for sale now for a decent price but I don't want to greatly under power the boat. We're not really going to be in mud, mostly 2 feet of water with grass stuff.

Re: 20hp Honda
Yah. Were not racing to spots. Just don't want to wade so much this year. Any idea on rough speed with 2 guys and a pop-up?

Re: 20hp Honda
check out the 16hp with electric start at max tool, we have used 2 of these and they do ok, about 15 to 16mph 1 person and 13 with 2

Re: 20hp Honda
Yah 10 is ok with me, just don't want to spend all the time and money for 5 or something like that.
I have looked into the duromax, it does look tempting. But I have also seen a lot of bad reviews.
