Hi, I have a lower seal that is leaking ( grease coming out between the seal cap and prop nut). I’m assuming I need a new lower seal set, but I also notice that the shaft itself has a little play in it where it will move in and out about 1/16 of an inch when the drive is turning while engine is running. It doesn’t have any side to side movement that I can see when prop is spinning. Would that indicate a bent shaft still? And if I put a new seal set in would I just be wasting my time without replacing the shaft? Any input appreciated. Thanks, Matt |

When you do the seal, definitely do the bearings, but whether or not you do the shaft or u joints is up to you. #CFFITR #mudmotor>physics |

I appreciate it. Do you have any tips to get the lower bearing out of the bearing housing, do I need to take the whole housing off then use a two jaw puller to get the bearing out? Or can I get the bearing off the shaft with leaving the housing on. Thanks |

Umm, been 8 years since I've pulled one apart. Pretty sure we just pulled the whole shaft. Not gonna be much help there. Sorry. #CFFITR #mudmotor>physics |
