Post Shaft removal problem
Alright new to this sight. But got a major issue. 23 briggs go devil long tail. was trying to pull shaft. Got it out of the u-joint after two days with a BFH and a number of expletives. But it seems that the bearing on the top is siezed on the shaft. I am not going to beat the rest of the way!!MY A** is already wooped. any suggestions. The motor is a 2006 23 briggs delta waterfowl. :?

I will look for it any ideas on where to find it. My other thought was to cut the shaft and get a new one. But I really don't want spend the cash. After spending money on a new prop and lower seals I am trying to be economical.

justbe careful when beating on it. one little knick on the shaft could keepit from sliding past the bushings. hen youll haveto buy a new shaft whether you want to or not.

Take off the two bottom nuts, prop, and thrust nut. Put a washer against the lower bushing, next a piece of 3/4 pipe just short enough to get on another washer and nut. Tighten this last nut and it will suck the shaft out. Just make sure the set screw on the top bearing is loose.

I figured the bearing was the problem just wasn't siezed but close enough. So soaked for the last couple days with wd 40. soaked er' up every chance I got. Then today I beat on it a couple times and pop goes the weasel. After the bearing gave up its grip it slid out like two fat girls mud wrasslin glad I didn't cut the shaft. But I sure thought abought it.
