it will work but not nearly as good as it should. u got 2 choices

1. have ur transom cut down. won't cost too much and u could build it up again later if u need to.

2. have ur outdrive on ur motor swapped out to handle a tall transom.

i feel pretty sure u ain't gonna like how a short transom motor runs on a tall transom boat.

good luck with it.

I had a friend that had the same scenario. First mudmotor either one of us ever owned. It ran fine and performed well, but it was hell keeping the prop in the water at full speed. That mf would wear you out trying to pick up on the handle the whole time running. We tried bending the tab up and it didn't help. It was a 27hp Honda go-devil. That thing was a beast in the mud.

itll just be hard as hell to hold in the water
however much u bend the cavitation plate, itll still do the same thing.

Called godevil talked to warren and he had two ways to fix it
Cut the transom down or cut the cavition plate off and buy a new one so I bought the plate
He also said if it has a swivel base remove it and install a fixed base because it sets too high

I have no idea if this will work, but I am sure someone will point it out if it doesn't.

But have you thought of a jackplate? a manual one? just mount it low and then crank it down?

I know it works for the reverse problem....

Just not sure if the "kick back" or "kick up" whatever you would want to call it would then hit the transom-that would be the biggest concern..

Just a thought....

Or like they said, cut the transom down...
