Mark your calendars! Were planning this one in a hurry!

April 17th & 18th

Wallisville, Texas.

The best place to stay is really in Baytown. There are other places, but after talking to some of the operators I was less than impressed with "no reservations" cash only BS...

So, to save everyone a big headache:

Bays Inn in Baytown, TX
2301 Decker Dr.
Baytown, TX 77520

http://www.baysinn.com (online reservation is available, by doing so its $3 cheaper)

When calling or if you call the number is 281-422-3641 our group name is "MudMotorTalk" online rate will still be cheaper and the rates below are I believe if you call.

The room rates I was quoted was $58/ night for 2 double beds or $52/ night for 1 King. Continental breakfast is included with your stay and there is a large parking lot ample room for the boats & trailers.

From Beaumont / Lake Charles (LA):
Take I-10 West to Exit 798, HWY 146, Turn left to go South. Exit Garth Rd. Stay on feeder road. Go to 2nd Lights and turn right (Decker Drive). Go down 1 mile and make a U-turn at Rollingbrook and we are located on right.

From Houston:
Take 1-10 East and Exit 788 SPUR 330. Continue until you Exit Rollingbrook. Stay on feeder rd and we are located on right.

Wallisville is located just 40 minutes East of Houston and roughly 45 min West of Beaumont area.

The hotel is within 10-15 minutes of the ramp.

Wallisville has a lot of areas to play and ride and fishing is heating up. The launch is minutes from some of the area best Saltwater Fishing. Redfish, Trout & Flounder, out of state or weekend licenses can be purchased Game Wardens do frequent the area. Academy & Walmart sell them in Baytown. I think a one day out of state license (all water) is $16 / day.

Fresh water fishing is great too plenty of healthy cats as you go up river.

Here are a few videos of Wallisville:

I hope to see some new faces there. There are places to grill and a park at Hugo Point. I'll probably have a buddy bring a big pit out there and get some BBQ going while were all riding.

I'll be arranging use of the covered Pavilion for the weekend.

There are the rv parks in Anahuac and Old River as well. The hotel on 10 in Hankamer was a bad candidate?

I thought it was a Best Western next to the Shell station up at the Highway 61 exit past Turtle Bayou. I will see what kind of details I can get on that one.

Thanks Drake. I just tossed out one good option. If folks want to stay at that location on I-10 sounds good to me.

I talked to my buddy. For less than $10 / plate he can come out and serve BBQ: Brisket, Chicken, Sausage, all the fixings iced tea etc. I just need a head count.

I'll try and get a poll going on another thread to see who would be wanting to have Dinner brought in on Saturday to the ramp. Sunday I figured people will be leaving at all different times.

Where you planning on running to ? I would like to make this one with yall if poor boy sleds are allowed. LOL According to my work schedule I will be off,and would like some more details of the ride.
Also crawfish should be kicked off by then, and I have a buddy that does crawfish catering out of Baytown if your interested,I could get him to give us some good pricing if enough peoples interested.
I live in Old River area, and if the out of towners dont feel comfortable about there boats being at a motel,im only 10 min from Hugo ramp, and have room to park 10 to 12 boats if needed after the rides.

Planning on running North of I-10 just depends upon River Flow its still up in the air as of right now but all the places we ride are all within 10 min boat ride of each other.

I agree, bout time our neck of the woods put on an event and the shirt idea is great. Any artists in the bunch?

Post subject:  Re: Wallisville 2010

The back of the shirts should have a crawfish driving a mudboat, and over the top put "MUD BUGS AND MUDBOATS" and on the bottom put "WITH COLD BEER".
.Looking forward to meeting everyone.
If enough people are interested, I talked to my buddy that does the crawfish, and he is interested in doing the shirts if enough people are interested, and have some ideas for them. If you need some help with it there West End ANGLER,let me know,as im not trying to step on nobodys toes or nothing.

I will need someone to help assist in Mud Bugs... I'm no expert. I know I can arrange someone to come cook 'em but if someone has a whole mobile thing going (which I think I read somewhere) then maybe its best to do that.

Feel free to call me and we can chat. More people assisting and helping out the better. 713-594-4252.

Coe, ive been goin over this "logo/tshirt" deal for a while. I did some design stuff in high school. Its been too long for me to pull some chit together but just a thought. If you happen to pick some design that has a mudbug drivin a boat, What boat? What motor? you dont want to have chit started and people bichin cuz the "wallisville bug boat" is a Gator-tail or a Prodrive   I could just see DDM whinin cuz theres a PD or Giga protestin cuz a GTs on there lol anyway, just a random thought. im waaay too bored at work today

yeah, my thoughts too. Maybe just put the logos somewhere on the shirts. but, that may be more complicated than just a phone call. Hell, i dont care whats on em. I'm goin to try and make it if i can Bum a ride with someone in a boat. lol If not, i'll just sit in my office and look at the pics like i always do

Sounds good or you could just put MMT on the calan of the motor thats going to be on the boat in the Pic. That way no controversy
