Anybody here from the Monroe La area?

Im about 20 miles from there. There are a few folks on here from monroe. Why might you be asking?

I am looking at buying a house in the Sterlington area.

My uncle lives in frenchmans bend subdivision. Its almost across the road from
Sterlington high. Your only 20 minutes from Simmons Sporting Goods in bastrop.. In mu opinion the best sportin good store in louisana !!

The place is on Lake Bartholomew, was wondering about the fishun and huntun.

May be staying in Bastrop on Cornbread Rd.in my 5th wheel til I get it.

PLUS, I need to know about building codes. Who would I get in touch with there?

bastrop is 10 minutes from arkansas state line. my camp is up that way. i've fished and hunted both.. real nice deer, sac a lait fishin aint half bad either.

there is some preety good duck huntin on russel sage, wham and upper ouchita nwr's. We have a floatin camp on the ouchita and you can limit out in 45 minutes one day and not fire a shot the next, especially with the water being so high this year. There is good fishin at times to. Jus10 what is your definition of a good deer?

my definition of good deer= mature 8 pt, heavy horn, not necesarily wide. thick neck (even when not in rut)

our camp is in monticello Ark, (bottomlands) we are not on a management program, but state law is 3 on one side. we try to let the younger bucks walk. i wont squeeze off unless im at least going to skull mount. the only ones that shoot smaller bucks are the kids and the wives.

my definition of a good swamp buck.. if that sum'bich got horns its goin down!!!!

lol when i hunt north la and arkansas i hunt conservatively.. but when im back home in the swamps.. i will mow em down! lol

ive never been to big on deer huntin, just go out there and flop a couple nans before duck season and call it done.

I was hoping to be there before duck season but it's not looking good. That particular deal fell thru but still looking. My Woman has a job interview coming up in Shreveport. Whats it like over that way? One thing I noticed in La. Most ever body I met and talked to there is freindly and the crawfish is scrumpalicious.
