 Re: Work
We are in the same situation, all of our competition closed shop so we are the ones left! Kinda sucks cause they cut out bonuses so I am still getting paid the same to do double the work. Greedy bastards! Guess I am should be happy to still be employed. They layed off over 100 heads and shipped half the work load overseas!

 Re: Work
Work is work. It's the avation industry in Wichita that has been hit the hardest around here. All oil exploration has dried up also. As far as farming, the price of seed and fertelizer has gone to the roof. About the only ones doing anything is the big boys. And I just know I will be the one to win the lottery. Like the man says, "It's a lazy man that won't go out and find his wife a second job". It's still fun to dream about that new boat and motor.

 Re: Work
we are slow. My sales were based off of mostly our automotive business. That has gotten cut in half since January. We didnt slow down until then. Now we had to layoff 8 salaried last week. I did get promoted and expanded my territories and sales base, but everyone is looking for the majic bullet and its not out there right now. At least not in the industries we are in. Not a fun time to be in sales. If things go bad, its your fault, not just par for the course and the economy.

 Re: Work
Pretty slow in the slickline biz. not in neutral , but not in forward. I'm working on a contract to send some folks over to Mexico to do some work in the Bay of Campeche. Far away from the war but far away from home too. Got to feed my guys wife and kids.

 Re: Work
it's hard to slow a pipeline down. No matter how bad it gets or how little it's worth..... it's still gotta get to da beach.

 Re: Work
Its beyond slow in the heavy industrial HVAC business these days. All the city ant states are cutting big rojects we had lined out!! Lost some good people so far and we are trying to keep as many on as we can. we got 75K sq/f and only 15-40 a day working now...... that's from 80 this time last year. We need some of the AIG executive to turn on their A/C so we can get back to work. Heck we have even started painting boats on the side......time to get creative.....

 Re: Work
I am having to go out and talk to old customers that we dumped because they didnt give us the kind of volume we wanted. Funny how things come full swing.
