Just woke up from a little 4 hr nap while at work. Well when I opened my eyes my supervisor was standin right in front of me like he was waitin on me to wake up. He asked if I want to try explain dis before he starts rightin up paperwork or if I just want to go ahead and except da fact dat I got busted.
Well I thought bout it for maybe 30 seconds, then asked him what on earth is he talkin bout. He says "I just caught you sleepin, hell I stood here and seen your eyes stay closed for da entire time I was standin here".
I asked "well how long were you standin der"? He said he was der for a couple minutes.
I told him I hate to bust his bouble but I was not sleepin. He said "what da hell do you mean you were not sleepin? I seen you wit my own eyes."
I said "No.... What you seen was me sittin here in dis chair wit my eyes closed" He said "so what's da argument here?"
I told him "well I was not sleepin........ I was prayin"
He stood der pissed off wit a puzzeled look on his face before walkin away and tellin me "I give up".
Da way I see it is he can right me up for sleepin at work but he can't do me shit for prayin at work. Now dat was quick thinkin.
I wonder if he will be back? I still got enough time to squeeze in another 2 hr nap before my shift is up.

In my line of work we get paid for what we know not what we do. Until an upset condition occurs. When my unit is runnin good der is not much for me to do. Kinda like a firefighter when nothin is goin on not much for dem to do.

Shift work is a mofo!!! Lets see how people who don't do it try it out for a year or two. Hell this year I have racked up over a thousand hours of OT and I did not want most of them but when you are forced you have to work it. Sometimes you have to catch a little power nap to get yourself right.

Like the man said I get paid for what I know and what I do when the shit hits the fan.

Hell i am in the same line of work and yes the line " we get payed for what we know" is very true, hell i came from offshore and i fixed damn near everything that went wrong on the poatform so when i got hired into the plants i was always out there trying to fix something and finally my Lead Operator came up to me pulled his eight inch pipe wwrench out of his pocket and said Turbo, if you can't fix it with this then you don't need to be messing with it. Very differnt environment from working offshore to the plant life, yeah there is a lot of asstime, but you better know what your doin win the shit hits the fan. Hey QC are you guys union over there?

No we are not union.

Turbo I was in the same boat as you. Ten years offshore and we did it all, got in this plant and was told in short order what I could and could not do. My plant is union and at times I wish it wasn't ,seems they spend more time working on protecting the asshats that should get fired.
