 Deer hunting in Arcadia
Anyone live there or hunt/have a lease in Arcadia? Me and my bro n law got invited on a deer hunt there and I wanted to know what to expect.....any big boys, wall hangers that u see regularly? Where I'm from (Centerville LA) a "nice" deer to us is 110 lbs, is this the case up there? Any input is appreciated.

 Re: Deer hunting in Arcadia
My uncle has a lease up there, its some sad daddys if you can get them to come out. A good heavy horned 8 point is pretty normal and you may get lucky with sumthin a lil bigger. Lotsa big nans to flop

 Re: Deer hunting in Arcadia
There are monsters in that area but they are mostly nocturnal and the only time you gonna see one is in a trail cam pic. I got a pic somewhere with a 10 and 2-8s in the same frame. Never saw any of them during the daylight hours.

 Re: Deer hunting in Arcadia
This is a average good deer for North Louisiana, they can have a lil more mass though.

 Re: Deer hunting in Arcadia
My grandmother owns a piece of land about 10 miles from Arcadia in Simsboro, and we have some very big-bodied deer. The average doe we shoot is probably around 130. Last year I killed a 165# 4 point. As far as racks, I have some pictures of some really nice 7 and 8 points on the trail cams. Not a lot of mass, but still some nice racks. When are yall going? I'll be up there next weekend.

 Re: Deer hunting in Arcadia
We goin to be up there this Friday Saturday and Sunday(new years weekend) I'm just looking for a decent rack to hang up on the wall bc like I said I marsh hunt down here and a nice doe/spike is about 100-115 lbs. Also I haven't shot anything bigger than a spike. I'm looking to take down an 8 point r better. Next weekend well be up in pecan island trying our luck at some geese. We have plenty duck here just no geese.

 Re: Deer hunting in Arcadia
Made me more sick than anything. I saw some nice deer but couldn't shoot bc they have some strick lease management rules. All in all though I had a good time as I always do in the outdoors away from the bullshiat of the real world. The dry parishes suck tho!!!!!!
