A tornado is notin more than a one minute hurricane Camile, Katrina, Lilly, Andew, Betsy, Gustave, etc all of which my family has weathered.

We had 4 B52s up last night in that shiat! Two ran low on fuel and had to divert to Ft Worth, the other two finally landed round 1145! Heard the base sirens go off, thats only the second time I've heard those in 24 years! Nasty stuff fo sure!

Tornados are much worse than hurricanes, i have lost a house twice in hurricanes because of water, the thing about tornados is you don't see them coming, no preparation, at least with a hurricane you have time to get out

I've delt wit both more times than I can to! And like Takem said, the no warnins on tornados makes em way worst! And why is it, they always seem to come when its dark as the inside ofa cat??

We left hope yesterday afternoon and came to shreveport because they kept saying that the worst part was coming down i30. But I think that shit just followed us. This trip has ended up costing me about $500 between missing work and spending the night here. A storm shelter may be a future purchase. Seems like every year they get worse.

Hurricane wind speeds are no where near as high as an F5 tornado like the one that hit Vilonia. F5's have a wind speed of 261-318 MPH.

Grew up in South LA and now go to school in North LA. I have been through several Hurricanes and they don't bother me but tornadoes scare the crap out of me. Like take'em said u don't know them suckers are coming until its over. DGuidry I usually just ignore your posts but you showed your true colors on this one an you sir are a dickhead.

I have never seen such distruction. 200 homes destroyed. It took brick houses and exploded them off there foundation.

A hurricane does not scare me (Carla, Alicia, Ike, Gustav, Katrina). The tidal surge may cause me to become uneasy, the constant wind etc., but its the damn tornados that get spawned that are the true killer & destructive force. Not saying a hurricane doesn't do damage but its really nothing compared to the sudden & tragic impact that a tornado brings heck at least you can see where the hurricane is predicted to go.

I have been fascinated with them since I was young even spent 1 summer chasing them. Your heart goes out to every town you drive into after a storm crosses through one.
