 My friggin A/C
My A/C went out at 11:30 Tuesday night. It was an old 3 ton unit. The compressor was fried and the A/C guy said it "shorted to ground". All I know is that it kept tripping the breaker when the compressor would try to kick on. A family member had an extra 3 ton unit that was about 5 years old. My my A/C guy came out, installed it including a new 30 amp breaker and we had cold air by 9:30 Wed. night.
Today he came back out to change out the dryers (filters) and everything was good. Then at about midnight it quit blowing cold air and the breaker was tripped. I flipped it back on and the breaker tripped again after about 5 seconds.
I'm going to call him to come back out tomorrow (saturday) but I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what is going on. I really hope this compressor isn't fried too because I really don't want to fork out a bunch more money. Thanks
