I have a permit for this year. You just have to get out and do some scouting to see were the duck birds a flyin. Usually the west end is a great spot.

Looking at the map the only spots are on the east side of the lake? Can you hunt the west side or are you restricted to your spot?

12 years ago we had a blind on the south side of the lake that was pretty good hunting...but I haven't been there since.

Does anyone know if there is any mud to run in on that lake? My parents live in Hempstead now, so I get down there every so often...thought I might drag the boat out there to run around some time if there is some good mud or veggies. Sorry to hijak the thread, by the way...

Nails creek is the public duck hunting part but I believe the drawn blinds are on the east end and only the permited hunters with blinds can huntcthere but not sure. I'll holla at you later bout it
