 Inflatable PFD's Illegal???
I read on another forum that if you are not wearing your inflatable pfd (say you have it stowed away) it does not count as one of your pfd devices and you will get a ticket if you dont have a pfd for every person in the boat.
I double checked it and its the law.... even though I think its stupid as hell.

Think about it this way, if you or someone else gets knocked out in a crash, the inflatable ones cannot inflate on thier own. The foam type life jackets will float no matter what.
I like the inflatable ones but feel you still have the self floating ones on board for all persons also.

Yeah when you get pulled over you have to show foam ones! The inflatable ones don't count unless its on your person.

 Re: Inflatable PFD's Illegal???
I highly suggest getting one that will make you float upright... I've seen a guy who was knocked unconscious and fell out of his boat. He hit a big wave hit his head on CC and went out luckily he had one on and his buddies plucked him from water and took him back to shore. Granted this scenario was off shore but you don't want to be doing a power slide and catch an edge get ejected and / or hit your head on exit. Better safe than sorry.
