TBS I have to agree with you alot bud. You post facts about the situation to help everyone understand. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink.

All people talk about most of the time is heresay. Facts is where its at and like TBS stated if you post an opinion to prove a point you are makin yourself look like a fool.

Both Organizations have valid points to help waterfowl population. So suppost whomever you want, both, or none.

Now being from LA we have been plagued most of the time with being hard headed and ignorant by most of the country. I am here to say Not everyone is like that. I am far fromt he smartest feller, but I can hold my own and represent myself well even with a Flat cajun accent. I just want to say to all the South La guys keep, your heritage but dont let it make you look or seem like a fool. Speaking with good vocabulary goes a long way!

Just to make myself clear. I DO support DU 100%. If it wasn't for DU we would probably be doing something else besides duck hunting. I was only responding to the comment that was made about them getting up at the crack of dawn, etc. One morning they were complaining and the next morning Jose was poling them out at what looked like ten in the morning!!! Yes I'm sure I've made comments about how forkin' early it is, but I get up and do it again the next morning. I would love to see an episode where those guys actually have to hunt (get they're own asses to the hole, build blind, put out decoys for the wind assuming they know how, etc.) instead of being poled to the blind and pampered to death. How about getting some real duck hunters on there? The problem is that show is geared to the rich guy who gives them thousands of dollars every year. In short...DU: good. DU show...sucks!

OK I'm done wit dis thread. Can we all agree dat DU does plenty of good but still has lots of room for improvement!!!!????

I think it's about time y'all get ur heads out da sand and face da fact that ducks just don't come to LA anymore folks. Just face it. I don't support either organization anymore.... why should I? It don't matter how many ducks they make, they don't come here. I'd be better off savin' up my money to take a trip to Canada, New Zealand, or Mexico or sumthin.

Duck huntin has been pimped out by DU & DW to the point where every fukin swingin dick with a shotgun thinks it's cool to be a duck hunter. Majority of these folks never duck hunted in their lives and prolly don't even like da way ducks taste. Most of 'em ain't even old enough to know what it looked like when we actually had ducks. It's just da cool thing to do. Da camo looks cool, da stickers on da back window are cool, da big fancy call lanyards with da neon colored duck calls look cool. And now with da surface drive MM market exploding at da seams, that makes it even cooler. It ain't a die hard sport anymore like it used to be, and now u got more huntin pressure than ever before. I quit bass fishin about 10 yrs. ago because of all da jackasses associated with it... deja fukin vu.

Da more pimpin they do, da more members they get, da more money they have to accomplish their goals, etc., etc. It makes perfect business sense.... and IMO breeding grounds & predator control should be their ONLY business. We don't need no damn refuges & habitat restoration throughout da flyway... with all the popularity in da sport and all da big private leases up & down da flyway we got plenty refuges & habitat. But I don't give a flyin frog's fat ass what they do with the jack because all da projects in da world can't reverse what's been done. There's simply far more habitat & hunters than ducks.... and ducks don't even know LA exists.

I'm sick & fukin tired of hearing all the bullshit excuses about why & how it is what it is. Don't tell me it's because we haven't had cold winters to push them down because some of the best duck hunts of my life as a kid bring back memories of push-poling out of the marsh with our waders around our ankles, sweatin bull nuts, with limits of mallards & pintails in da boat. Ducks used to come here no matter what. It started gettin cold, ducks came south for the winter. But now, due to popularity there's so much habitat between here & there they don't have to come this far unless it's covered up in 8' of snow for 3 wks. Would you cross town to eat chicken when you could have steak right down da street??? Don't tell me it's because I don't get out & scout and find the birds... because I'm a fukin commercial fisherman that knows things & places about our habitat that those rich folks with the big fancy leases would pay fortunes to know about, and I spent countless hours in da woods and burn thousands of dollars of fuel through my rig in a years time.

It pains me to think that it's over for us down here, but that's reality. At least I have the memories.... what REALLY pisses me off is that my kids will NEVER see what I saw. They'll never experience what I did. Hell, they may not even take an interest in it because it'll be so boring for them. And that pisses me off.

So you'll find me takin my anger out on deer & hogs and shit like that with the exception of a few wood ducks to keep the taste familiar... animals that don't migrate. But rest assured I keep a quiet close watch on my best duck holes so that if a few ducks show up.... I'm gonna rape & pillage those mofos like it'll be the last fukin time because it very well may be.

I guess we know how you feel about it all Stump! Thats why you cannot duck hunt only! Gotta chae them whitetails too to feed the belly.

I was just talking to a friend today from Arkansas about this topic, he is associated with a mojor call mfg and has been on a few hunts with the "DU guys" he supports DU and DW but admits that he thinks "they" (being the guys from DU he hunted with) try to keep the birds from moving south by pumping water in when areas are freezing up. He thinks this is happening in many places in the the northern parts of the flyways and is supported by DU........ just passin on what I was told by someone who's seen it.

That is the absolute truth. I couldn't agree more. It's extremely sad to see it go away. My best duck hunts were done swatting mosquitos and sweating balls also. It's unbelievable how fast it has changed.
