Re: Rough day on the river......
A cold river is nothing to mess around with. That was to close Randy, I'm sure you feel the same. As all have said I'm glad to read the story from you and not someone else.
Were you enjoying the HB 997 before your day went to shit?

The HB 997cSI is one bad sonar. Man the things I could see with it. I only wish it could have seen in the future

That's definitely colder than a well diggers arzz! You win this years prize for story's. No one wants to top that. That's not the way to make headlines. But ya gotta admit,,, had a great ending. I thought Blue Balls ment something else. Be glad ya didn't have your Second Chance on. LOL

Re: Rough day on the river......
Holy Chit Randy! Damn!
Thank God your safe and sound, and thanks for shareing this story. You know this saftey reminder will prolly save one of us some day.
Last year i almost went outsda boat. I just launched and was idleing up to shore to pic up my son and a buddy. I turned 180 degrees (at Idle in the dark) to face the boat into the current. While making the turn i hit a stump at the stern and stopped the boat dead in its tracks almost launching me out of the boat and into the cold water and the rocks by the bridge. I totaly didnt expect it!
Glad your good to go, and I bet your nutz were the size of BB's!

Re: Rough day on the river......
God bless you Randy and thanks for sharing your story. All I could think about was you must be living right!
I hit a submerged ice plate last spring in the dark on the MS river and about went overboard, too. The ice destroyed the lower unit on my plate boat's motor. Luckily we were running two boats. Your story will have me wearing my PFD.

Re: Rough day on the river......
God Bless, I am glad you are typing this instead of us finding out some other way.
I too hit something one night while in my PD. the waer was only a foot deep and it was in August, but it threw me out of the boat. was not wearing my kill switch, and was verry lucky. I think Im going to buy some of those mustang vests
