getting zimad was the worse when i was in college last to the party had to chug a hot zima and when i say hot it meant warming up the truck to operating temp then placing a Zima on the exhaust manifold of the warmed up truck (may require a towel to not explode the adult beverage) but it will be the last party you ever show up to!

Is that really how they do the transom on the excels? That shit just don't look right, like they tried to rig something up. Tall transom motor or short transom deck or something, I dunno. Part of it is still in the motor mount on the gtr.

I agree, considering the cross piece that's still on the boat and the piece still in the motor mount is unpainted, I think it was a test run gone wrong. Looks like just tack welds on the piece still in the motor mount.

Edit ** Found a picture, this transom is for an outboard bracket and somebody tried to put cross members in there for the GTR but didn't weld them in all the way. I guess they thought it was good enough to try it out.

That's what I thought. No fan of excel, but this doesn't even remotely look to be any fault of theirs.

It looks like the piece that broke off was added on top of the cross brace that is still in place. (obviously)

But when they added it, it was taller than the side brackets so they could only weld up part way.

So if got this straight, someone thought it was a good idea to put this piece in place and leave the place with the most torque on it partially welded, and the actually part where the motor mounted "free standing". Makes sense. If you are looking to add a fish attractant to the bottom of the lake.
