If he had any knowledge of propellers and would watch a Thai longtail run it is a surface drive, the props have more pitch than an American longtail propeller, When you take off in a Gatortail, Gdsd, Mudbuddy etc surface drive, you starting with prop submerged then it surfaces as you get on plane. The thai longtail does similar when you getting on plane the prop finds it way to surfacing, It is a surfacing propeller. There are numerous videos of this on youtube. In those videos if you know anything about how propellers work, you would right away know these motors are surface drives. This is a fact , no room for arguing facts, sorry. Also here is a patent from 1991 for an outboard surface drive adapter, enjoy.
