Rockwells are way overated. Heavy and wide as crap. A D60 is a better option IMO.

Post subject:  Re: mud nationals 09

yea would be a little wide for a toyota.... dana 60 are some tuff som bucks too ... if your lookin for a set i think a friend of mine has a set . military d60 front and i wanna say a d70 for the back maybe wrong . wanna say 5. 8 something gear ratio .

Prolly 5.38s. Military axles aint no dfferent. just came from the factory with an open carrier and 4.56 gears in the D60. The 14 Bolt FF had a detroit locker stock and 4.56 gears aswell.

rockwells is like having honda civics for axles weight wise,

if your doing straight mud with tractors and 900 hp motors and all that crazy shit yes.

Author:  etquackster [ Tue Mar 10, 2009 8:15 am ]
Post subject:  Re: mud nationals 09

if you think you have so much reduction with axles and transfer case i know people that run little over stock motors and do fine with 44's and or 55 in rice and canes.... rockwells are heavy as hell , but you don't have to worry about breaking them if you do get the lincoln out and weld up back up............ :D

Post subject:  Re: mud nationals 09

The shafts in a rockwell are brittle It really doesent take much to break one. But to each his own.
