im curious fellas......how many of you is this drilling moratorium going to directly affect???they already severly cut our hours down at work....major blow.dont get me wrong i am angry and upset with BP as much as the next guy bc the jackasses cant stop the leak but it could have been any company this happened to and we all know there is high risk in deepwater drilling so the dumbass of a president and his band of idiots shouldnt make the good suffer for the bad. you dont shut down every air line when ther is a plane accident or all the highways when there is a car wreck.....just sayin....and was wonderin how many of yall this has hit because i fear it will get much worse at work than cut hours..............................
GOD HELP US ALL AND PRAYERS STILL BEING SENT OUT TO THE BOYS THAT LOST THEIR LIVES THAT DAY ON THE HORIZON AND THEIR FAMILIES.

it's all political manuvering so they can rape us with the cap and trade/green energy scam when gas hits 7$ a gallon.

bp should of had the well capped with a bop or valve 30sumthing days ago. they are playing around with this siphon thingy just to to prolong the misery.

it's all a dog and pony show. you and me are the ones getting screwed.

bp... beyond petroleum..... get the picture?

i chose my job in the oilfield cause as long as there are wells in the gulf, they will need wireline. my company doesn't do any deepwater and not much rig work, so i may or maynot keep my job for a while. who knows.

i bet the houma halliburton w/l shop is getting hit hard, they only do deepwater wireline work.

hope and change, boy that sure is working out great.

and the media is acting like the spil is over now, and they haven't even capped the well, just stuck a finger in a leaking dam.

iran is threatening to guard them ships going to gaza or where ever, this will provoke isreal to stomp them, then we;ll get to see if iran has a nuke or not.

obama will be in the closet looking for his birth certificate doing nothing.

it sure don't look good.

and to top it all off, duck season might get closed for us on the coast.

when our genious president has our great country crippled and bowing to his feet..............thats what it seems to me like he wants and is trying to do...he is hurting more than he is helping and i dont think he has the brains to realize that. the economy is already hurting around the rest of the USA except down south it is a little more stable thanks to our oil and gas industry along with the fishing,shrimping,crabbing,oyster,etc......and it looks like he cannot stand to see us strive. this thing needs to be lifted and lifted quickly before people lose their jobs for years to come not short term.

I work for private company that does drilling and exploration. Mostly on the shelf. We haven't been doing much drilling for the last year, only workovers with our smaller rigs. We've been working but I don't know how much more of this the oilfield can stand.

OAN, this may have started out as an accident. But now I think this whole situation has taken on a Political Reasoning for not being shut in. Someone is using this as ammunition to stop D/E on the east coast and along Florida. At the expense of the Gulf Coast.

Its going to effect Houston I know that. Already seeing some deals being put on hold from the Real Estate side of things that were slam dunk prior to the Deepwater disaster.

From what I've been reading and hearing from local representatives and companies this morning and over the last week is that companies are going to pull out of the Gulf and it will be some 5 years give or take before they'll be back.

I read the same thing about the moratorium being lifted very soon. It was on Foxnews.com. Said Obama spoke with his cabinet and they were getting a lot of pressure to lift it. They will come out with some new guidelines and benchmarks.

I sell lifting products (Wire rope, chain, etc) to lots of rigs in the gulf including Transocean. This will no doubt directly affect the business I'm in, and severly cripple the company branches in Lousiana.

If anyone wants to try and do something about it there is petition being signed now.

I work in the safety training part of the oil and gas industry. We are busy at the moment because of the clean up efforts. Once the clean up is complete, we're probably going to slow down if you guys aren't out there drilling. All of the companies mentioned so far in this post are clients of ours.

We had a town hall meeting over here last night w/ our congressman....there was a panel of several key exec in the offshore industry that chimed in. It's not good. They lifted the shallow water moratorium, however they are not issuing permits. Apparently the "new" permits will be so G.D. restrictive it's not worth the investment. They are predicting 150,000 jobs lost/moved in short order. This is from Arena Drilling.

If Tx and La would secede from da US then it would be our federal waters and we would issue da permits. Looks like formin our own nation would save our economy and ensure a decent future for our children.
