If anyone is interested in something that is actually working with cleaning up some of the oil from the spill, then go to Fox 8 news and check out the video called, skimmer takes a gulp out of oil spill. I dont know how to post a link to it. This is what Ive been working 7 days a week 12 to 18 hrs a day on for the last couple months.

They work damn good. They have a big plate just under the water surface in the front, kinda like a spoon bill on a crankbait. right behind that is a bulkhead with a collection tank. As they push the barge, the oil which floats on the water, spills over the bulkhead and is sucked up by two 12 inch pumps on the deck which pumps it into some big ass tanks on the deck. It then gets seperated from water and all the oil gets pumped to a holding barge. We made a model at first to show BP the idea. Boss man had to build the first one out of his own pocket. Once they saw the real deal in action, well lets just say its been busy as hell at work.

In the oil field we call that a sump tank just a big azz one!! They have been using them on platforms for years. If you ever look at a oil platform on the lower levle their is a sq. tank on it by itself that is it!!
