Gonna be meeting up with my Dad at some point in the next couple weeks to get my motor back. Vicksburg is right around the half way point for us. We were hoping to find somewhere to ride around. Found a couple small lakes near the river, but looked like small fishing lakes. Didn't want to go put in on some small area and piss off a bunch of locals. Wondering if anyone was from that area or had any suggestions on where to go ride around at. Little bit east or west of there is fine, but preferably somewhere not too far off of 20.

darbonne lake is down about foot right now, there may be some good mud and lillies up the lake where the cypress trees start growing in the water. I would stay away from the creek below the spillway right now, all the erosion has a bunch of fallen trees hanging out into the creek and we tore our outboard clean off the transom down there a few weeks ago.

there's no mud, it's pretty, decent fishing, but there are better places to take a mud motor. Check out the Upper Ouachita wildlife area, but that depends on water levels, Darbonne is scenic but probably no mud. Shadow said bistineau is low it's on I-20.

Hey man let me know when you are planning on ridin darbonne I don't live far from there and if I'm off I can maybe go ridin with y'all. Just a warnin there isn't much mud but it is like a mine field with stumps

Like to try to avoid the stumps. LOL. We'll see enough of those bastards during duck season. Both our motors have brand new lower units.

Mud and veggies are fine but not a must. We are both just getting our motors back outta the shops and this will be the first time running them with new parts. Gonna try to get the carbs dialed in. And we have a few props to play with. Trying to see which one is gonna be the best for each boat.

Good info guys.
