Is anyone running a shallow water set up with an outboard like the pictures from Gator Trax withe the Tunnell Hull? I have a friend that has a 2 stroke mercury 40hp or 60hp and he was pulling out all the mud motors at the last mudfest I went to in May. He is running alot faster than everyone else and spent $4000 to do it. Any help figuring this set up? He had someone set up his motor, I know the motor is modified with cams, and some other internal mods.

I ran tunnels for years. If all ur runnin is marsh, shallow water with soft mud... It's all u need if it's set up right and u know how to run it. Tunnels are a headache, but once u get em dialed in they serve their purpose well. A lot of boat manufacturers out there offering tunnels that ain't got no business doin so cuz they ain't right. Gatortrax's hyper tunnel included unless they've vented it since it came out and sucked so much.

It gets old rebuilding water pumps and repairing lower units though if u gonna run it in any kinda heavy vegetation, jump shit, and hit logs/stumps with it. I'd place a lot of money on the bet that I could run my old rig anywhere 90% of MM owners run theirs.

That mega 25 was an awesome engine while they were around!
