I worked for Basin Marine in Berwick several summers in college. If you could pass a piss test you were hired. Didn't pay much, if you wanted to make money you needed to get on the MS or ocean tugs and get a captains license. It wasn't bad work though, especially for a college student...

Try Florida Marine, Kirby, or Southern towing if you want to get on the river. My first choice would be Florida Marine.

Depends what type of vessel your trying to work on. You will have to get STCW certified to work on any U.S. Coast Gaurd inspected vessel.

No.....you cannot recieve it online. It's a week of training (firefighting....first aid/cpr.....water survival/helo safety). As for the cost i'm really not sure. The company that i work for has their own school and have been approved by the USCG to train and certify their employees free of charge.
