I am looking around for a nice gun safe and I figured I would ask yall about any pros or cons of different brands. They say Sentrysafe has a waterproof one but I can't seem to find one anywhere. Any info would help thanks.

When you find a waterproof one let me know who makes it I need one that can handle being submerged for about a week at a time in the worst case scenario.

to my knowledge all of the fireproof and waterproof ratings are only for short periods of time----i.e.--1200*F for 30 minutes or 2ft. of water for 24 hrs.

Guns should be prouldly displayed in a fine gun cabinet. Not hidden like you ashamed of owning them in some dark safe. JMO

Quackconsumer not ashamed of them but like benelliman said if someone breaks into your house and sees that fancy gun cabinet thats all thats gonna be left after they take all your guns. All these nut jobs running around over here, thats all I need some nickle to go on a shooting rampage with one of my guns.

I don't wanna come home and be lookin down the barrel of my own gun.

If your house gets broken in to and your guns are stolen wait to see what your insurance is going to give you for them.

We got a gun safe from academy. We had our guns in a cabinet until some clown broke into my house and took out the lock cylinder and too 2 of our guns from my house. They didnt even want to break the glass. Since then they stay locked up.
