I bet he makes his decission based on recomendations from many wildlife biologist. From talking to wildlife biologist, the states are allowed to choose when to have there season as long as it is within da window given to dem by da feds. Louisiana allways chooses its season layout to have da east zone close on da last allowable weekend possible. Supposably da feds will not allow duck seasons in Febuary because dat is when a large majority of ducks start pairin up for da breedin season.

Wonder if there is something we as a Louisiana hunters can do as a whole to delay next year's season a few weeks. Bet if no one bought a liscense next year they would listen to the people

Bro I'm pretty sure the guys that are setting the dates have much more knowledge about it then you think you do. Why not just push back deer season to that way we won't have to hint in the heat at the beginning and can be shooting pregnant does at the end of these season. Its the same concept.

Sure the state can push the season back a FEW weeks and then you will have a FEW weeks less to hunt.The Feds set up the guide lines and states set up the seasons within those guidelines.

Hunting has not been the same in La not because of when season opens but due to changes in the migration. If you have not seen coastal areas covered in birds in Oct its because you have not been around long enough to remember.
