 burris speed bead
anyone ever tried one? im left eye dominant and right handed. dont shoot bad, but dont shoot great either, by any means. its always a guess how much to lead for me, and since the stock sits on my right shoulder i cant see down the top of the barrel with my left eye. thought it might help some. what do you guys think? how much do you guys lead a duck?

 Re: burris speed bead
Do you wear glasses? I've seen where it was recommended to put a small piece of tape in the middle of the lense on your left eye. It just knocks the focus off a lil bit, but not the same as closing your eye or using a patch. Worth a shot maybe?
About the sight, I thought they looked neat. Haven't broke down and bought one yet cause they're kinda expensive, but the reviews on them seem good. Don't know how much it would help with the eye dominance issue, but if you could get one somewhere that had good return policy it would be worth a shot. Or if you could borrow one, even better

 Re: burris speed bead
I'm right handed and left eye dominant so I do all thing right handed but shoot I do it left handed and shoot a bow left handed there is nothing wrong with that so try that it is a little funny at first

 Re: burris speed bead
Tape on the glasses works. Was teaching the wife to shoot and she was way off target with the Beretta. Finally got around to figuring out if she was left eye dominant and sure enough she was. Put the little piece of tape and now she's knocking them down on the back edge of the decoys.
If you don't wear glasses get a cheap pair of clear lense safety glasses.

 Re: burris speed bead
found a few reviews from turkey hunters for the burris spead bead, but nothing really from a waterfowler..i guess theres a reason for that.

 Re: burris speed bead
I've seen quite a few of the trick shooters and clay shooters using them. I would think it would help out a lot for any type of wingshooting. Its got to help you get your gun close to the target really quick. But if you practice shouldering your gun a lot, its usually pretty close to on point already. Who knows... I'd like to test one out for sure.

 Re: burris speed bead
I seen it and thought, boy that would be cool to have and then I thought. A red dot won't help you judge how much to lead. It's not going to show you when/where to shoot. Also, how is poor shooting form going to be comensated for? It's still going to be bad form.
I could see it working a little at close ranges but out to 40+ yards, I don't think it will help. A couple of guys on Duck Commander uses it. I think Willis is pretty big on the Speedbead.

 Re: burris speed bead
I have been a comp shotgun shoter 4 a long time won state trap shotin comps my state and many athers. speed bead work fine if your a constant lead shoter. where u try 2 have a predetermind lead 2 shot your target. but the best shotgun shoters a allways going 2 b swing throw shoters. so if u are thinking about trying a speed bead i have a better suggestion 2 try first. try a champion easyhit there 20bucks and made 4 shoters that have the same problem u do. hope that is a cheaper way out 4 u.

 Re: burris speed bead
My dad has a speed bead on his benelli. He seems to like this system. I don't know how much those things are now but it would be worth a try.
