Post Shrimping with T al and Big Al..
Landed friday morning in Laf with Tal waiting with some hot Herberts boudin. Ate that on the way to getting some fresh cracklins for the trip. Got to the boat and met very big Al and headed out for three days of shrimping. Got out and dropped the nets and later pulled them up with some nice shrimp. Ate really good with some wild boar sausage and deer tenderloins in gravy served over rice. We picked shrimp until late at night.
Got up the next morning and waylayed the shrimp again. Bad weather hit real quick causing us to take shelter behind some land. We got the shrimp picked and Tal fried up some soft shell crabs, shark, trout and shrimp with some cold brews. Sunday fished until another low pressure front came in and roughed the waters up real good. Headed in to the dock late sunday afternoon. Got back unloaded a pile of sacked shrimp and some smaller shrimp to be dried out. Got back to the Granger home and met Tals wife Amber, Big Als wife Cheryl , Tals grandfather and sister Brittany along with her boyfriend Mitch. Had a great meal and watched Swamp People and had some good laughs. Seen Big Al off for another round of shrimping and Tal,Amber and I headed to Herberts for some extra boudin and stuffed boneless chicken for the trip home along with a big bag of headless shrimp. Got to the airport and found my cooler overweight and was told the extra weight would cost me 90 bucks. So I pulled out some of my cloths and shoes from my carry on backpack and packed it up with the boudin and frozen deboned chicken and boarded the plane carrying my cloths and shoes :D
Man what a great trip and I learned more in three days than I could remember. Here is some pics from the trip. I can't say enough good things about Tal and his family. Some super great people.
Randy

Randy, it was all our pleasure having you here to experience this! It's unreal how many people always say they would love to come on a trip but never take the time to do so. It always excites me when someone is interested in our culture and to me there is nothing better than to show them "How We Do Dat".

Tank, you are right on brotha , Theres good people everywhere you go and i definnatly found one just like us all the way in Hoosier country!

Mr Brooks I will let the picture answer your second question :D Within thirty minutes of landing I had me a size 13 in hand. Mr Brooks I think the shrimp boots are cooler because they are white, easy on and easy off and they are supposed to keep your feet dry. I do believe they catch more water than they shed. When Tal had the water hose you might as well take your boots off because your feet were going to get wet. As white as mine are in the pic they no longer look like that as I have been dipping hoop nets all week.
DA gave me my first pair of shrimper boots. I have been wearing them for a few years. Great for knocking around in,feeding the dogs and chickens, running nets, catching bait, power spraying the boat out and whatnot.
Mr Brooks you would look good in a pair.

Looks like a good time was had.... I can agree with you Randy on the hospitality that the Coonasses show for out of towners... My two trips down were top notch with good food and good times.... I believe they enjoy being around someone other than their cousin's and go all out for a new commer... JK. Im ready to make my 3rd trip down that way soon...
