Hey dickhead, I'll bitch when, where and how I want to. So fork off Mr SWEPCO. Since im locked into SWEPCO I it to be provided and not lost at least once a month for the 16 years I've lived there.

You already know the answer to that one. And I guess I need to get that generator since I can't depend on SWEPCO for timely repairs on those once a month outages. That's what happens when there is no competition and your locked into a single provider.

I bet you didn't get charged for any killowatt useage while it was out look at all the money you saved. maybe obama will send u a check for conservation?
If it is a monthly issue, I agree, buy a genny or just move.
If your neighbors like you, you could always run a cord to the one thats still on

Actually I got over it when the power came back on . I don't like to sit in the heat. Move, why move? I just expect SWEPCO to provide the service the are supposed to. That goes with having a monopoly on a product.

i feel your pain buddy but before u go and blame swepco u have to understand the way it operates when it comes to an outage. you dont even know the steps that have to be taken in order to get someone to get to your house. then once they get to your house there are steps to be taken to see what needs to be done and getting the right people to do it. since u said it was at night some body has to call and wake up somebody to even go to your house so you should be damn thankful somebody is even willing to do that for u. someone cant just show up at your house and flip a switch for it to come on. there may be other workers on the line that people dont even know about. one screw up could cost someone there life and why? because your hot!!! you"ll live. ive been a lineman for 10 years now and pisses me off to see someone complaining about being out of power for a couple hours.i got a solution for you why dont you just keep calling em maybe they will rush the workers in to doing it faster and getting someone killed so u can have your ac back,and i can tell u now that swepco will be the fastest out of any company to try and get your lights back on soon as possible i also contracted for them for 6 years and they are the best at restoring power. so next time when someone shows up to fix your problem maybe a thanks for getting up in the middle of the night and coming to help might be better instead of complaining.

You boys are to easy...... Im sure you would never complain about being left sitting without power in the heat. But dont hit me up like they doing me a favor please. They are getting paid (well) to do their job and Im sure that OT they were making more than made up for it.

me i wouldnt complain just because i know whats involved in getting the job done and getting it done safe, no mans life is worth getting your power on a little bit sooner. but for someone that doesnt know procedures im sure would be mad. i just dont see where they are responsible for it, its not like they called up for a storm to come and blow some trees down. im just saying a few hours aint bad now when it gets to days thats when i would complain.

Nothing personal and I realize the storm caused the outage. But to clear it up a little, when I called I was told it would be between 8am and 10am the next day to have power restored. So yeh, I was a little pissed about the prospect of spending the night without power when all the adjacent streets never lost it. I know the dangers involved with electricity and would never want someone to get hurt doing anything. The other posts were just to raz the SWEPCO groupies.

If you cut all the tree's in your neighborhood down, then they can't fall on the lines

Maybe you should blame you or your neighbor for planting a tree to fall on the line.

Your lucky the crappy electric company didn't charge you for your tree knocking there line down.

AND ...... In deffence of them linemen type fellers ..... I gots nuthin' but praise fo them. I too had some issues with power outage and mines delay actually came from thays interior comunications. We gots Oncar and the linemen I thank are amazin' ..... it's just the way that thay git dispatched that sux.

Looks like old Poker1, came on here and posted hoping that he would get some sympathy and all he got was a butt chewing for picking on workers who has to do their job under extreme circumstances.
