 Reporting Bands
Aside from all the fun i had already tonight, Has anyone shot a banded bird, or even a double banded bird with a money band? I shot one last year and have yet to call it in, i just keep forgetting to do it, so i was thinking i would do it this week sometime, anyone ever done this lol.

 Re: Reporting Bands
No big deal, just tell them the date that you killed it so they have an accurate read on the birds age.

 Re: Reporting Bands
My dad had a friend who hunted Felsenthal WMA religiously, The last day of the split he found a bunch of ducks and couldnt wait for the split to re-open so he went back in the next day... Man he wore em out too. To top it all off he killed a banded woodie... Well, he got back to the house and called the number in sayin he killed it yesterday and just got back from the camp with no phone. The lady said thanks and every thing was good... until the warden pulled up the driveway. Turns out the duck had been banded a few hours ago the same day he killed it. this has nothin to do with the topic but thought id share anyways

 Re: Reporting Bands
Naw, it was just a huge coincedence. The warden had just stopped to shoot the bull, sorry if I mislead anyone.

 Re: Reporting Bands

 Re: Reporting Bands
I got a teal band a couple seasons ago. Didn't realize till we were takin a final count so we were unsure who actually shot it. We ende up flippin a coin at the sonic after breakfast... I won. I also have a Pelican band on my lanyard.....

 Re: Reporting Bands
Congrats on the double band. FYI check the neck for a transmitter. They banded quite a few mottled ducks out in the WMA with double bands and a neck transmitter. That would be a prize. Seems like quite a few mottled ducks were banded this year. I was fortunate to shoot my first banded mottled duck this year.
Wish it would have been a double band!!!
As for your reward. You will get your certificate and later a check with the presidential seal in the background. If it was a laurel band, it will have the U.S. Fish and wildlife service on the check. Its actually pretty cool. I just got my goose back and never cashed the check. Gonna shadowglass the cert, check and pic from the hunt. Pictured is everything you'll get minus the mount.

 Re: Reporting Bands
Alot of the mottled ducks that were double banded have a neck collar. But if you already have him mounted you probably would have found it.
