I like the river floats, the Grist Mill, and of course Gruene Hall.
I went to the Schiltterbaun on Padre Island one time...well, it looked like a training day for Rio Grand crossing

Water is spring fed and cold year round... Best in later May when temps warm up... The local river tube floating is more my style - just tie the beer cooler to your tube and kick back and suntan and sip.... Camp sites or hotels all around.... If you want to take a boat - the Guadalupe is nearby too - we like Seguin and McQueeny... |

They have an indoor Schlitterbaun in Galveston - you can go there right now and it is pretty kid oriented fun..... |

Go for it, I live here in New Braunfels, where the Schlitterbahn is. I got a group from Loreauville making the run out this way the first week in June. It's a great place to vacation, better place to live! Got questions, contact me, I know this place pretty well, I can steer you in the right direction when it comes to a hill country vacation. |

schlitterbahn for tha kids fo sho... then on july 4th leave tha kids at home and get a raft for the river its a lot less hassle with a cooler and watch the adult activities........
