lookin at gettin a 17ft duracraft......trailer has title and is registered but boat has no title......its been registered b/c i can see the numbers on the side of the boat in the pics..........if i show a bill of sell can i get the title for this?? |

in louisiana you were not required to have a title for a boat until last year.... in louisiana you only have to carry a title if you have financed the boat or you have the option to have a title.... i bought my boat "paid in full" last year and was not required to get a title.... yes a bill of sale should be adequate to reregister in LA... as far as TX i do not know |

I financed my boat and was not required to have a title. I thought your registration basically serves as your title. If you look on the back of your registration there is a section for transfering ownership that is signed by the buyer & seller. Not sure if it has to be notarized. Although not required, it's a good idea to also get a signed bill of sale. |

yeah im gonna gety a bill of sale just now i have to get intouch with the guy and see if he has the registration for the boat........thanks guys |
