wondering if anyone has this setup in their truck. I got it a couple months ago. I think its awsome but what sucks is that FM tuner. Anyone ever put in an aftermarket auxillary port in there radio so theres no static. I have a 01 chevy and it has an AUX option on the radio. just wondering |

If you are getting static with an aftermarket Sirius receiver that you tune in through your FM radio, try changing the channel / frequency that you tune in to. You go into your Sirius receiver and change the setting. I found that when semi-distant FM stations compete for the same frequency as the one you are tuned to, you get static. Try all of the available frequency settings to try to find the one on which there is no static. My last two trucks have had XM built in to the radio and I like that setup better than using an aftermarket satellite receiver. Hope this helps. |

Sirius makes something called an FM Direct Adapter. It hardwires in between the factory radio and the antenna of the vehicle. I install these units daily and never have problems with static. You can get them for $20 off Amazon.com. It is a very simple install as long as you know how to take out the factory radio. If you have any more questions about it let me know. |

jg i thought they made something like that. I mess around with the frequency settings constantly but on long road trips it shits out after awhile and i go through the same thing. Im gonna look for that direct adapter. |

Yep, those built-in FM transmitters are garbage. The direct adapter should fix you right up. If you have any problems or trouble installing it, shoot me a pm and i should be able to walk you through it. |
