I haven't watched the show. They usually just upset me because things are either overplayed or the producers don't have a clue about what's real. As far as where I've been with a GoDevil I'll keep it simple. Look at a map of Alaska and find the Yukon river. I've run it from the Canadian border to the Bering sea and gone up most of the tributaries that feed the Yukon. That includes the Tanana from Tok to the Yukon. If you follow the Dalton highway north from Fairbanks up to Deadhorse I've been on all the streams crossing the road that will float a boat. I still have a couple in my bucket list. I would like to run the Porcupine up to the Canadian border and the Kantishna into Lake Minchumina. I may be a little too old for a trip I've dreamed about in Canada. I'd like to take the Mackensie River up to the Arctic ocean. It's exciting for me to poke the nose of my boat into a side stream that probably sees one boat every ten or twenty years. Additionally; I have a couple of friends with Supercubs and have spent many hours flying with them. The problem I have with a Supercub is I don't have enough eyes to see all the stuff I want to look at. Do I like Alaska??? No I love the state. In a days travel in a boat or snowmobile I can be a long way from most idiots..... I mean people. |
