they are all snakes. i watch them slither in and out of the court room all the time. it could be your buddy or someone you dont know there all SNAKES! they will tell you something to scare you then charge the shit out of you to make it all better. we are dealing with my wifes parrents affairs now and laywer that cant open his mouth w/o lieing. "1500-2000 will take care of this" last bill was 7000 plus. there is alot you can do for your self w/o a laywer. you just have to research it. you can file the paper with thecourt your self. you can represent your self on minor criminal matters and will get the same deal in the end. and if any of yall ever hire one on a traffic ticket you probally need one. if your that dumb or that bad a need to get a ticket worked on then you probally dont need a license in the first place.

I say that if you've got the know how to get through all the years of becoming a lawyer and pretty much dealing with the bottom of the barrel type of folks after spending 8 + years in a higher education setting then more power to you for charging some dumb sob an arm and a leg to shave a little bit off the time he spends under incarceration or probation. Just my .02 cents and not just sticking up for dguidry but all lawyers in general. If you know that you can sleep better at night with a pocket slap full of money and 1 more criminal on the streets go for it. In today's age it doesn't matter one way or the other if that specific criminal is behind bars because there will be 10 other scumbags to take his place. I personally think I'd be ok with going to bed a stinking filthy rich self made man but what do I know?

we have a judge that wont alow a defendant to plea at first appearance. he said once that he doesnt want to keep a person from getting a right to trial. what that means is he wants them to hire an attorney from town. pay that money. also complaines that tickets are down no revenue coming in to the court. since when is law enforcment about money making? i agree with the laywer not getting any better deal for the defendant, but it hasent got that bad that they wont deal w/o one.

its the deal that has killed the system. and more and more its about the money. most of the defendants have as much or more know about the system than the laywer. so many times through the court room and back another time. it old hat to them. probation and fines. its all about the money.

I was a prosecutor, a defense attorney, and a judge. You all, including Poker1, know as much about what a lawyer really does as I do about puting a cam in a mudmotor. Except that awereyman is correct. In a criminal case, you pay a lawyer to diagnose your defense, like a doctor would do with your medical complaint. In most cases there is no defense. But you pay a lawyer to find a defense if one is there. If I were charged with a crime I would not want to leave any stone unturned. A lawyer would do his client a disservice if he did not recommend a plea were there no defense. Otherwise, to try a defenseless case wastes the client and his family money.

practice, doctors do it as well as laywers and neither get it right most of the time and you will pay every time.

i dont have a problem with a person needing defending by a laywer. it when a laywer knowly tells a client something to scare them for the pourpose of getting more money from them. its wrong and all about the money. "we will need to file this or that" or "i have an accountant or an appraiser that i work with that can handle this or that." if we dont it can be a real problem later. (or never) can you say kick back. that in its self should be a crime ( thinkin RICO) they will slander each other worse than anyone else. had them tell me stright up the other was an idiot then see them eating lunch together. SNAKES I SAY, SNAKES!

I could sit down and have a drink with you anytime. As long as we didn't talk politics or legal matters. I haven't taken things to personal in many years. As I always say. If I don't have to wake up next to you every morning, I don't give a fork what you think. There are some great and honerable attorneys out there. Just not all of them are. But its one of those evil necessities of life.

As much of a problem as a person stirring sht, is the problem of people getting waaay bent out of shape about it, then going in to slandering cussing fits and personal insults. I would think that would get you banned first, since there are rules in place that say keep the swearing and personal attacks down.

It is against our constitutional rights to ban someone for speaking their views and beliefs. Not to say that it's cool to push it on people, but it is what it is.

These are facts we cannot ignore. I think if everybody would calm down, it wouldn't be half as much a problem.
