Yep we gotten here too....sabine and neches and trinity all holden......sabine lake and galveston bay are nurseries for bulls. Rarely seen or caught except in tpwd nets and shrimper nets.....allmost all under 120 lbs. They get big and leave for the open ocean. Pretty scary though, make you think twice about jumpin into that muddy water. |

You should see West Bay from the air, I have taken several trips over Galveston Island, the bay that sits just north of it is West Bay with 2 main channels feeding it access to the Gulf is very easy. I have seen a Mako shark in West Bay before, I have caught Bull Sharks, Black Tips all of the time! I wade at SLP (big cut that runs into gulf) with a 15' stringer for a reason I have been tugged on, summer months not unsual why wading to get pulled backwards and a few of your trout are chomped in half! they are all over in the Missisippi River... And that was close to a inlet from the Mississippi. |
