 spanish lake run
went out today to ride in the marsh at blind river but due to all the rain we had saturday, thought i'd try the breaud bayou to get to spanish lake and to my surprise there was eneough water to launch my pd.went all the way to the lake and there was nothing but trees every where you looked. that lake has been so dry for so long that it looked like a forest that was flooded. I saw about ten wood ducks and two gators. man that place used to be a wood duck haven and gators every fifty feet when i would go froggin..it sucks the water will be gone in a couple of days.

 Re: spanish lake run
damn man me and a few buddies went about two weeks ago and tries to launch at the crazy old mans landing and there wasnt enough water to even float the boat.... we had to put it back on the trailer and head back to the house. I rode it around august of last year after a big rain and it was a blast!! I love going back there when the water is right..... kinda depressing that its all dried up now! I always forget that it floods after big rains.... next time you go PM me and ill meet you down there. Its only about 15 min from my house so its an easy ride glad you had fun

 Re: spanish lake run
Rod I still wanna come check out ur ride, work has been crazy lately! Anyone have any ideas where we can go ride? I went behing Alligator bayou bar middle of last week (have a friend that knows the owners) and there is enough water to run a MM but I dont know if they would let us launch and if there's any mud in the lake. Sounds like it's all trees now. When I went last week it was the first time I have seen Cypress Flats since they drained it. Depressing it is all button willows now too.

 Re: spanish lake run
The only other place close I like to go put around is in St. Amant off Laurel Ridge rd. Not much really, just a canal that empties into blind river. they got a few sleughs you can play around in though.

 Re: spanish lake run
as far as i can tell (first mud motor, so nothing to compare to) she run's good. i just picked it up beginning of the year used. all my runs have been deep water except for one slow morning huntin in maurepas i found some mud and I didnt get stuck so guess its alright. me and 2 guys with a hunt load I'll average 22-24 mph. my buddies PD X1 1848 does same speed with same load same motor, thats my only comparison I have

 Re: spanish lake run
I still went on tuesday when everybody cancelled because of the terrible weather but by the time me and my buddy got to the landing all the rain had stopped. The water is super high!! and the lake is completely full of water you can hardly tell that it has ever been dry...... we had a blast and saw a bunch of blue wing teal and woodies. we were busting them out of the brush left and right. I took some pics ill try to post them when I get a chance. I cant wait to go back.... probably ride over their again thurs or friday if someone wants to join me. It will really be fun if you can catch the water right in the fall stage.... still a little high right now. just picked up the new Uncle-J today so im gonna be looking to do some riding \ ps. make sure you pay the old man his money lol...... as soon as I pulled up to the ramp he got in his ford and drove over. Went straight to the mail box and pulled my 3 bucks out
