This a.m. around 1:30 the tones went off on my radio at the house for a MVC w/ person trapped.. Milan Fire was on the scene within just a few mins from time of call.. Being the wreck happened just down the street from our #2 station... I could tell by the traffic on the radio that it was not going to be a good call... This morning when I came in to start my shift I was informed of who it was that had the wreck and the outcome... The driver was a friend of mine... We had hunted together, ate together, drank together and had lots of good times in the years I'v known him... Its a big blow to alot of us around here that he has passed on... Please pray for his family and friends during this tough time..

Thanks....

in our prayers Earl. I've been fortunate enough not to lose any close friends and can't imagine that.

Prayers sent Earl. I've always feared that one day I would have to respond to a friend or family member. But so far, I have not.

Sorry to hear about your buddy. I used to ride cutting horses in Milan. We rode out of James Coleman's place, Cletus Hulling was his trainer. I think Cletus has been gone from over there for 6-7 years though. I wonder how James is doing, he was never in great health when we were over there.

Sorry for your loss.

When I was a Fire Communications officer in the early 90's, I had two calls for people I knew that didn't make it. One was a wreck where two guys died and the driver put in a wheel chair for the rest of his life.

The second one was a call for a washdown. It was a guy I went to school with and he was riding in the back of a car and he "supposedly" shot himself. Word had it the folks he was with shot him.

Thing is I didn't know who the victims were until the responding truck called me at dispatch to file the report. It's then I find out the names and it's like whoa.

Sad deal for sure.

One day Shawn told us he could make it across the duck hole and back. Guess what, he did it. Man did he make us laugh!

That was a good hunt that day, Shawn could sure keep us laughing.. I guess its cause he would do just about anything we told him to do.... The day Sullie (my 170# Rottweiler) ran him out of the house will always be etched in my mind... RIP buddy... Thanks for the pictures Jake... And thanks to MMT and all the fine people that hang out on here...
