This eagle was seen on Caddo lake on 4-22-09. We had been bream fishing and my wife snapped these pictures of a huge bird. At first we thought it was a golden eagle but after consulting the bird experts we found out it was an immature bald eagle. (and no I can't tell you where we caught the bream |

Love to see the eagles. If you are ver down between Burnett and Llano between Nov and March there is a huge nest right off of the road. I would post some pics but I am on dial-up here at home |

Bald eagles must be kinda rare in your parts huh? The're around here most the year, especially fall / winter. Not far from my crib there's a farmer who puts dead calves in his field during winter, about 20 yards in to the field from the fenceline along the road. On a good day you might see 15 eagles on the ground and in the nearby trees. Makes for an easy shot. |

Hope you are joking about shooting an eagle Not an overabundance of eagles down here in east Texas but we do have a few. Just up the road from me is the world famous Lake Fork. There are several (maybe 20)that winter on the lake and they claim it to be the eagle capitol of Texas |

Calm yourselves boys, hell no I'd never shoot an eagle, maybe with a camera. I have zero interest in losing my hunting license for God knows how long, not to mention it would be unethical as hell. It was a joke, but it would be an easy shot. |

The Native American bags more eagles than most will every know. I have a friend who works for a state DNR as a biologist told me the NI waylays them for ceremonial headdress. However I still enjoy seeing them. I had one land on a tree limb about thirty feet from my front door last year. I think I posted the info here. My wife went to get a camera and another bald eagle flushed the sitting one off the limb. Cool sight. We see them all winter long here in So Indiana. Glad you got to eyeball one. Randy |

Guess seeing them often lately takes the "coolness" factor away. I will say seeing them is a cool site though. Unless its about the same time you have a flock of ducks working some dekes. Eagles WILL flare ducks. Side note. When dad passed, I found out Im a hair under 1/2 Indian (feather not dot) Does that mean I can shoot em?? I mean if theyre flaring my ducks or something? J/K I would never shoot an Eagle (even though them eating a cow carcass would make for an easy shot |

Canuck since you are from the 'whack a ho' tribe did you make a good stew with it? Nice pic. I'm surprised you did not catch that eagle and make a pet out of it. |
