Anyone know someone who installs hydroturf or someone who has installed their own and is willing to help me out. My rig is getting close to head to paint and I want to turf it. But I really don't wanna mess it up.

If you can find someone that is good at putting on window tint might be good help, them fellas have a lot of patience . Measure twice and cut once.

Gatortrax will sell me the turf and install it for about $900. I have no idea if that is a good price or not.

Scott it's not hard. I used some brown wrapping paper to make a template of the areas that had to be cut out.

You can do it yourself for much cheaper. I think the sheets are about the same price all over.

No chit, for 900.00 I bet they will. 350.00 in turf and supplies along with a day or so of time will get it gone too.

The problem is, the color I like is a Gatortrax exclusive. Might have to buy it from them and attempt to install it myself.

It is really simple. It cuts really easy with a razor blade. All you need is a good surface to work on (sheet of plywood), a good straight edge and a little time. And the backing is over rated and extremely over priced but its your money. A qt of the HT recommended Weldwood glue will go along way, for about 15.00 too.

I thought I read that you have to cut it a little smaller than you want it because it swells from the glue.

Get the hydro with 3M backing already on it. 75 for 60"x40"

buy it from gator trax as you stated then call gator tail and ask them what they will charge you to put it in your boat.

GT was about $700 or $800 for a 18 ft boat, that's turf and labor, wouldn't hurt to check though.

I'm gonna check around for prices. I'll probably wait till my boat comes back from pait to decide what I'm gonna do with it. I want to see the finished paint before i choose a turf color.

x2 i was going to laydown HT and i may still do so whenever the paint wears off the floor, but when i got my boat back from camo designs, the floor matched with the camo and not just a solid color and also had crushed walnut shells for non sked.....really looked good and had great traction whether it was dry or wet.

I agree on the floor matching the boat. But, i want by better half to spend more time in the boat and she likes to be barefoot. The turf would definately be easier on her feets!!

She don't bitch about it. Just trying to make it have something nice for her. I mean, we arent married yet, but she has been great thru this whole build process. Hell, she's even asked how much longer till the boat is ready?

Uncle J took care of me once again. Got me a price to purchase and install that I couldn't pass up. So the next time i see my boat, it'll have a motor, custom paint, and hydroturf!!!!
